Topic

Enabling DevOps and Team Topologies thru architecture: architecting for fast flow

To survive in today's turbulent and uncertain world, organizations need to innovate at a faster pace. Recognizing this, IT organizations are adopting the principles and practices of DevOps and the organizational model defined by Team Topology. While DevOps and team topology are critical to enabling the rapid change that today's organizations need, they alone are not sufficient. To prevent applications from becoming barriers to rapid change, we must also create architectures that support rapid mobility. In this talk, I will describe the architectural requirements that support the implementation of DevOps and team topologies to provide rapid change flow. You will grasp the power of shaping architecture and the tradeoffs that need to be made when designing it. I will show how to make decisions between monolithic and microservices architectural styles. You will learn the key monolithic architectural patterns that enable rapid flow, and I will describe how to design a microservices architecture.
